Lafayette’s March Through Culpeper Historical Marker Dedication

Print shows Marquis de Lafayette, full-length portrait, standing, facing front, wearing uniform and holding two swords in left hand while directing American troops during the battle at Yorktown; a black soldier holds his horse behind him on the right.

The dedication of the next in a series of markers produced by the Museum of Culpeper History in 2024 will take place at 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 16.  The public is invited to this event to commemorate the Marquis de Lafayette’s campaign through Culpeper during the Revolutionary War. The unveiling will take place on the lot of the United States Colored Troops Monument located at the intersection of Maddens Tavern Road and Youngs Lane. Parking will be available at Ebenezer Baptist Church at 23411 Maddens Tavern Road. For more information, visit www.culpepermuseum.com or contact the museum at [email protected] or call 540-829-1749.
