Home to one of Virginia’s most awarded wineries, Virginia’s first tri-fecta brewery, winery & distillery, and Virginia’s greenest winery the Culpeper, Virginia region is the perfect destination to plan your next getaway to explore some of Virginia’s award winning libations. Beer Hound Brewery

Celebrating their 8th Anniversary is this October 2022, Beer Hound Brewery has been serving up award winning beers since 2014. Follow them on social media for events and celebrations.

Death Ridge Brewery

The locals have spoken and voted this family owned brewery the best brewery in Culpeper, VA according to the Culpeper Times, as well as the best place to hear live music and the place to find the best cider in Culpeper, according to the Culpeper Star Exponent. Opening in the midst of the pandemic this family friendly, farm brewery is just getting started. Ducard Vineyards

Offering guests seven gold medal winners in the annual Virginia’s Governor Cup competition, this mountainside boutique winery is also highly awards for their green practices too. They have been named the greenest winery in Virginia by the state’s Virginia Green tourism program, and has also received multiple awards for green leadership and innovation.

Gadino Cellars

With deep roots in Italian heritage, this family owned winery brought home 4 medals in the 2022 Virginia’s Governor Cup competition: Gold – 2015 Estate Nebbiolo, Gold – 2017 Estate Nebbiolo, Silver – 2017 Delfino Rosso Bordeaux Blend & Silver – 2019 Chardonnay. Purchasing the land in 1989 the owners have been cultivating the vineyards here for over 30 years to offer some of the highest quality Virginia wines visitors can experience while in the region.

Gray Ghost Vineyards

Gray Ghost Vineyards has consistently garnered over 100 medals per in national and international wine competitions since 2013, an accomplishment that has made Gray Ghost Vineyards the most awarded winery in Virginia. To date, Gray Ghost wines have earned over 2,500 medals and multiple “Best of Class”, “Best of Category” and “Grand Star” honors.

Magnolia Vineyards

Voted “Best Winery” for 2022 in the Fauquier Times Readers Choice awards, this vineyard specializes in Italian inspired wines and has won 10+ awards since opening to the public in 2019. Most recently they received three medals in the Atlantic Seaboard Wine Association competition: Silver – Cabernet Sauvignon and Bronze – Cabernet Franc & Petit Verdot.

Mountain Run Winery

Winner of three gold medals for their 2021 Mead, and 2022 Meritage, six silver medals for their
2018 Shiraz, 2021 Oaked Chardonnay, 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon, 2022 Petit Manseng, 2022 Traminette, and 2022 Viognier, and three bronze medals for their 2018 Merlot, 2019 Cabernet Franc, and 2022 Farmhouse White, in the 2024 Virginia Governor’s Cup Competition.  They were also names winner of the “best wine“ category according to the Culpeper Time Exponent, as well as “best wedding venue” in 2022, according to the Culpeper Times. Mountain Run Winery also took home the titles of “best oak Chardonnay“ “best steel Chardonnay“ and “best hard cider” in the 2019 state fair wine competition. Awarded silver medals for their Cabernet Sauvignon and Meritage in this year’s Atlantic Seaboard Wine Association Competition this is only a few of the accolades they have received over the last few years.

Narmada Winery

With 40+ gold medals under their belt, the team at Narmada Winery offers guests a unique tasting experience harnessing the knowledge of complex spices acquired during the winemaker and owner, Sudha’s, childhood in India. Their wines are also complimented by their Indian inspired menu offered in their tasting room too.

Old House Vineyards

The 1st tri-fecta brewery, winery & distillery in Virginia has received awards for all three of their craft libations. Most recently receiving one gold medal in the 2024 Virginia Wine Governor’s Cup Competition for their 2020 Petillante, five silver medal for their Melange de Maison, 2020 Bacchanalia, 2020 Cabernet Franc de Maison, and 2021 Bacchanalia, and two bronze medals for their 2021 & 2022 Wicked Bottom.  They also took home 2 gold medals, in the 2023 Virginia Wine Governor’s Cup Competition for their Apricus, and 2022 Vidal Blanc. Boasting a double gold medal in the 2022 San Francisco World Spirits Competition for their Old House Whiskey VI & another gold medal in the 2022 Virginia Craft Brewers Guide competition for their Irish Red beer they are on an award winning roll.

Revalation Vineyards

This vineyard focuses on natural practices that allow them to use a minimal amount of pesticides throughout the growing season and giving back to their community through teaching viticulture & horticulture classes in the spring for local High School students as well as offering a platform for local artists and authors to showcase their work. They most recently won the “Made in Virginia” award in 2021 for their Verjus.
