Redwood C.1830

Redwood was the home of Nathaniel Pendleton, chief magistrate of Culpeper County, and author and signer of the first protest against the Stamp Act. During the Civil War, it was used for a time by Union General Rice and his staff, while his soldiers were encamped in surrounding fields. Generals Lee and Longstreet met here as well.
