The event kicks off with registration and Public Archaeology Day at the Fort Germanna Visitor Center. Participants can view archaeology work in progress, interact with resident archaeologists, and view interesting artifacts.
There will be a welcome event at the Culpeper History Museum and a 3rd Thursday Concert Series in downtown Culpeper, Virginia.
The second day will feature guided Heritage Tours focusing on the 1714 First Colony or the 1717 Second Colony. The evening will include a banquet and silent auction at the Lake of the Woods Club House.
Participants can also enjoy VIP tours of Salubria, a Georgian-style historic property, and a festive Oktoberfest at the Old House Winery.
The third day will have a Historical and Genealogical Conference with various speaker sessions, including discussions on preservation, DNA in genealogy, and Historic Germanna’s strategic plan. This event will be held at The Refinery in Downtown Culpeper. There is a large parking area adjacent to the venue. You can order a box lunch or you can explore the many lunch options within a few blocks in Culpeper’s vibrant downtown.
The final day will involve a worship service at Hebron Lutheran Church followed by a Sunday Southern Church lunch, and updates on the Hebron Church 1740 beam restoration.
