Experience History: The 165th Anniversary of First Manassas

Step back in time on May 16–17, 2026, as the rolling landscape of Brandy Station Battlefield transforms into a living canvas of American history. This landmark event marks the 165th Anniversary of the Battle of First Manassas, featuring the largest Civil War reenactment in over a decade.

Witness thousands of reenactors bring the past to life with massed infantry charges, thundering cavalry demonstrations, and authentic artillery barrages. A highlight of the weekend is the premiere “Commander Duel,” a historic recreation of the strategic struggle between Brigadier Generals Irvin McDowell and P.G.T. Beauregard. Beyond the battlefield, visitors can explore authentic military encampments, attend a traditional Period Ball, and enjoy keynote historical presentations.

Designed as a family-friendly community event, admission is sold by the “carload”—one flat price covers everyone in your vehicle! Advance tickets are available for $30 starting April 1, or $35 at the gate. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and coolers (no alcohol permitted) to enjoy the festivities. Several food and refreshment vendors will be available on-site.

Don’t miss this once-in-a-decade commemoration of a defining moment in our nation’s story. For tickets and a full schedule of events, visit culpeperbattlefieldtours.com.
