See history in action at our first Public Archaeology Day of the year on Thursday July 16 from 10am to 4pm! Tour the dig site, meet our knowledgeable archaeologists, and see history uncovered in real time as we excavate Alexander Spotswood’s Enchanted Castle, the town of Germanna, the Gordon Farm, and the potential site of 1714 Fort Germanna. Get your hands dirty with hands-on, family-friendly activities!
This event is free and open to the public. No registration is required. Check in at the Historic Germanna Visitor Center in Locust Grove to receive a timed ticket to access the archaeology site. The last timed ticket will be given at 3:00pm.
