The Life and Legacy of The Marquis de Lafayette: A Traveling Exhibit EXTENDED until October 1
June 28 - October 1

The American Friends of Lafayette’s six-banner traveling exhibit tells the important stories of Lafayette’s life and legacy, including his participation in the American Revolution, his critical role in cementing the Franco-American Alliance, his lifelong passion for human rights, including the abolition of slavery, support for women’s rights and women authors, religious tolerance, and support for democratic governments, and his return as Guest of the Nation in 1824-1825. Also highlighted are efforts of the American Friends of Lafayette to commemorate this bicentennial in 2024-2025.
This exhibit strives to make Lafayette’s story more accessible and relevant to today’s citizens, accenting the connections between Lafayette and George Washington as well as more recent history, including the 2002 decision to proclaim Lafayette an honorary citizen of the United States.
Stop by the museum and see this exhibit before it leaves!
