SUMMARY:2026 Cedar Mountain rally 5K & 10K
DESCRIPTION:Cedar Mountain 5K and 10K Rally is Cedar Mountain Battlefield Foundation’s (CMBF ) first race. CMBF is a non-profit\, all volunteer organization that is the steward of the Cedar Mountain Battlefield that relies entirely on donations and proceeds from events such as this to maintain\, preserve and interpret this community asset.\nThe Cedar Mountain Battlefield is more than just a historical site of a horrific Civil War battle on August 9\, 1862. It is also a 160 acres of nature reserve with a large variety of wildflowers and birds. It is a community park that is always open to the public with well-maintained trails for birding enthusiasts\, dog walkers and runners. And lastly\, it is very scenic with both wooded and open areas.\nBy participating in our race\, we are financially assisting CMBF in carrying out its stewardship mission.

DESCRIPTION:Spend the day with us and experience dog adoptions\, historic battlefield tours\, K9 demonstrations\, and pet focused vendors! \nCome find your new best friend! The Culpeper Animal Shelter and Salty Paws Brigade will be bringing some of their own BARK Rangers that will be up for adoption during this event. Not looking for a new friend but still want to help out? We will be collecting donations for the Culpeper Animal Shelter during this event. They are specifically looking for: dog/cat food\, cleaning supplies\, treats\, and tough toys. \nCheck out the State Police Search and Rescue booth while you’re here and see one of the scheduled K9 demonstrations! Also visit Culpeper County Library’s spot to read to therapy dogs and check out some of our Civil War history children’s books. \nDon’t forget your own dog — they can do a scavenger hunt and learn alongside you about the brave canine companions of the Battle of Cedar Mountain. At the end of the tour your canine companion will be an official BARK Ranger! \nThe battlefield tours are rated easy and approximately half a mile.
