In 1907, the Winstons donated land for Rising Zion Church and school just down the road from Winston Chapel. The Chapel was completed in 1909 in memory of a family member. The chapel and shop still stand today. Lucy Robb Winston was educated and strong in faith. She was not your average farmer’s wife. She traveled to Europe, New York City and shopped in Washington, D.C. Lucy was a artist, worked with her husband’s ministry to alcoholics and she was a librarian at a theological seminary. She passed away in November 2016.
