Since 2021\, she has collaborated with the Staunton Downtown Development Association\, designing and maintaining the planters of over 30 businesses in Staunton’s shopping district from May to October during their Shop & Dine Out season. Leslie also tends gardens year round on the grounds of Pharsalia\, a 200 year old flower farm and event venue in Nelson County. She has been developing a program of botanical workshops that have been well received at Pharsalia and also in Staunton Harrisonburg\, and Culpeper\, VA.

DESCRIPTION:Join John Christiansen\, Executive Director of the Museum of Culpeper History\, for a guided combination driving/ walking tour of sites on the Kelly’s Ford battlefield on Saturday\, March 16. The tour will start at 9:30 AM at the C.F. Phelps WMA boat ramp parking lot at 6430 Kellys Ford Road in Remington. The tour is expected to last three hours and will include three stops around the battlefield with short walks of up to 3/4 mile at each location.\n\nPLEASE NOTE:\nThe driving tour will be via carpool.\nWalking areas contain uneven\, at times steep\, potentially difficult and rugged terrain. Trails are unpaved wood trails and are potentially muddy and slippery. Attendees should bring water\, wear comfortable footwear and dress appropriately for weather conditions.\nThere are NO restroom facilities on the tour. The closest public facilities are located at the Southern States service station at the intersection of US 29 and Beverly Ford Rd. Please plan accordingly.\nDue to limited capacity\, advance registration is highly recommended.

She is a co-founder of Mountain Ash Press and KW Writers Alliance and currently teaches at an underground school for Afghan girls. Her book\, Tell Me What You See\, serves as a toolkit for her writing workshops. She has written articles for Huffington Post Canada\, Jane Friedman’s blog\, was the Beauty Editor for British MODE Magazine\, and served as managing editor for NonBinary Review. After a successful career as a cardiologist in Culpeper\, Mendlow returned to her first love—painting—and began an exploration of how color and light evoke emotion. DESCRIPTION:Come celebrate the start of Spring on Saturday\, March 1st with a LARP Tavern Takeover at Greenlee Tavern. We’ll have LARP bards Brady Lloyd (Radby/Maple) and Dan Joyner (Spire) playing music all night and we’ll have lyric sheets available if you want to join some of the more popular tavern sing-along songs.\nThere will be a free tavern-style dinner at 7:00 pm (potluck contributions are welcome) and the bar will stay open until midnight. There will be lots of mead\, wine and beer available for purchase. We’ll have a bonfire after dinner\, bardic circle and a loud and rowdy LARP tavern after that. All attendees must be in garb and 21+\nIf the weather is good that afternoon we’ll do what LARPers do: pitfights\, combat challenges and maybe a scavenger hunt!\nRSVP to Mountain Run Winery. Camping is available if the weather is decent.
