DESCRIPTION:The Museum of Culpeper History will host a series of gatherings to discuss the new documentary series\, “The American Revolution\,” directed by Ken Burns\, Sarah Botstein\, and David Schmidt. This six-part\, 12-hour documentary explores our nation’s founding struggle and the eight-year War for Independence.\nEach gathering will feature casual group discussions to share observations and insights about the information and ideas presented in the series\, with one episode covered at each meeting. A volunteer facilitator will lead the discussions.\nThese gatherings will provide an opportunity to connect with fellow community members who share an interest in the history of the American Revolution\, especially as we commemorate the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.\nParticipants are encouraged to watch each episode on their own before attending the gathering for that episode.\nPlease register for each date you plan to attend.

In this talk\, Jody will present several of his projects\, from initial community engagement and grant assistance\, through the architectural and construction process. He will also discuss how these buildings fit within the broader cultural histories of Black education and religion.

As a respected public speaker\, Harry has delivered keynote addresses at Lee-Jackson Day commemorations\, including a presentation in the Old House of Delegates at the Virginia State Capitol. His programs have also been featured by the Gettysburg Foundation\, Chancellorsville Commemorations\, the Sons of Confederate Veterans\, and the United Daughters of the Confederacy\, among other organizations.
