DESCRIPTION:The Carver 4-County Museum will be featuring a new exhibit honoring prolific writer\, John Mercer Langston Hughes\, born February 1\, 1901\, in Joplin\, Missouri. He passed away in New York on May 22\, 1967.\n\nIn 1936\, he wrote the poem\, “Let America Be America Again\,” which is the foundation for our new exhibit\, “Liberty\, Labor and Langston.”\n——-\n\nThe Liberty\, Labor and Langston\, exhibit opens online at www.carver4m.org on February 1\, 2025\, in celebration of Black History Month.  It is curated by Terry Miller.  It will open inside the museum from February 25 through the end of December. SUMMARY:Wild West Day at Mountain Run Winery
DESCRIPTION:The Wild West comes to Culpeper on August 9th! Come see a team of trained Western reenactors engage in mock gunfights\, shooting and roping demonstrations\, a model Western encampment and more!\nThe winery has live music by Curt and Rob under the pole barn during the afternoon and Pauleys BBQ food truck on site starting at noon.\nIf you want to make a full day of it\, there is also an all-you-can-eat Pig Roast fundraising event running 5-8pm by Mom2Mom as well. More info and tickets for the pig roast can be found under winery events. \nThis Western event is FREE \nSchedule of events is TBD and will include opening shots\, intro to western lifestyle\, roping demos\, guns of the old west demos\, and a mock gun battle.\nThis is a family friendly event. No dogs please as there will be lots of loud noises\, mock gunfire and fun.
