SUMMARY:Art @ The Vineyard – Barbara Hawley
DESCRIPTION:Revalation Vineyards is pleased to feature artist Barbara Hawley in both of our tasting rooms for May and June of 2026. Her exhibition\, titled “Piece Work\,” features wood piece assemblages. Creating them involves problem-solving\, arranging\, and finding the mystery in the newly created artwork. Barbara is an artist\, teacher\, and writer who received a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Arts with a minor in Art History from the University of Maryland. She developed the first Artist-in-Residence Program at the University of Virginia’s Cancer Center\, where she focused on the importance of creative self-expression. She also started art programs for Virginia Neuro Care and Play Partners (a division of Children\, Youth\, and Family Services) in Charlottesville\, Virginia. Currently\, Barbara is the artist-in-residence at MAD Arts in Madison\, Virginia\, where she teaches and exhibits her artwork. She is interested in a wide variety of media\, from drawing to watercolor\, acrylic\, collage\, as well as jewelry\, assemblage\, photography\, and more. \nARTIST’S STATEMENT: Art is not only a very important part of my life – it is my life. It is my joy and expression. It engages me and fulfills me. It is my gift to share.

This landmark event marks the 165th Anniversary of the Battle of First Manassas\, featuring the largest Civil War reenactment in over a decade. \nWitness thousands of reenactors bring the past to life with massed infantry charges\, thundering cavalry demonstrations\, and authentic artillery barrages. A highlight of the weekend is the premiere “Commander Duel\,” a historic recreation of the strategic struggle between Brigadier Generals Irvin McDowell and P.G.T. Beauregard. Beyond the battlefield\, visitors can explore authentic military encampments\, attend a traditional Period Ball\, and enjoy keynote historical presentations. \nDesigned as a family-friendly community event\, admission is sold by the “carload”—one flat price covers everyone in your vehicle!
