DESCRIPTION:The Carver 4-County Museum will be featuring a new exhibit honoring prolific writer\, John Mercer Langston Hughes\, born February 1\, 1901\, in Joplin\, Missouri. He passed away in New York on May 22\, 1967.\n\nIn 1936\, he wrote the poem\, “Let America Be America Again\,” which is the foundation for our new exhibit\, “Liberty\, Labor and Langston.”\n——-\n\nThe Liberty\, Labor and Langston\, exhibit opens online at www.carver4m.org on February 1\, 2025\, in celebration of Black History Month.  It is curated by Terry Miller.  It will open inside the museum from February 25 through the end of December. Noreene Janus is a contemporary artist from Falls Church\, Virginia\, outside Washington\, DC. \nShe has studied with national and internationally known artists at The Art League of Alexandria and elsewhere\, and has advanced degrees from SF State University and Stanford University. \nShe belongs to the Art League\, Alexandria\, Virginia; Potomac Valley Watercolorists (PVW); Falls Church Arts; and Lake Barcroft Art League. For many years she was represented by B & B Gallery in Old Town Alexandria (now closed) \nHer work can be found in private collections on three continents.

Each week look forward to discovering the finest in-season products ranging from meats to mushrooms\, honey to hydrangeas\, breakfast biscuits to bath bombs\, plus Farmers Market essentials\, like eggs\, dog treats\, hot sauce\, jam\, bread\, hard cider and more.
