Spend a day in the foothills of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains at Historic Salubria’s fall open house on Saturday, September 23 between 10am and 2pm.
Tour Culpeper’s oldest brick structure and enjoy the grounds of this 1757 Georgian-style mansion that will come alive with arts and crafts activities and living history reenactors. We’ll also welcome friends from area organizations and local businesses, including Spelled Ink books, Friends of Cedar Mountain Battlefield, and Culpeper Battlefield Tours. Members of Historic Germanna’s archaeology program will also be present to share updates on this year’s excavations at the archaeological dig sites of Alexander Spotswood’s home, the “Enchanted Castle” and the probable sites of Fort Germanna and the original Spotsylvania Courthouse.
