First Courthouse Marker Dedication

July 7 @ 2:30 pm - 3:30 pm

A group of colonial men, some playing drums and wind instruments, walk by a brick courthouse marker where other men and children are gathered. The scene has a historical, early American setting, with people dressed in 18th-century attire on a snowy street.

Join us at the museum at 2:30 on Sunday, July 7 as we unveil the next in our series of Culpeper County historic markers in downtown Culpeper to commemorate the location of the county’s first courthouse and its role in Culpeper’s Revolutionary history. The unveiling will take place on the 250th anniversary of the 1774 Culpeper Resolves – Culpeper’s public declaration of support of representative government.

The program will begin at the museum, then walk to the marker location.
