Culpeper Wine Tour

Come together to celebrate Virginia wine in Culpeper. We'll start at the Historic Train Depot, and head out on foot to Culpeper Cheese Company, where owner, Jeffrey Mitchell, will pair Virginia Wine and Cheese for an unforgettable taste! Three stations will be setup for an interactive experience that is sure to tickle your pallet.

From there, we will board the trolley and head out to Mountain Run Winery, where wine is, at its core, an agricultural product, and a great wine is a reflection of the land that it came from. That agricultural essence is very much a part of Mountain Run Winery. Their one-of-a-kind tasting room is built in a 1960’s corn crib. As soon as you step inside the weathered oak walls of the barn, you’ll feel the deep agricultural history of the setting come alive. The tasting room bar top was handmade from the corn crib flooring, and much of the old wood on the property has been given new life as planters for flowers and vegetables. Here, you will engage in a guided tour of the property, followed by a private tasting.

The tour will continue onto Prince Michel Vineyard and Winery, one of the east coast's premier wine estates. As a pioneer in the Virginia wine industry, Prince Michel is one of the oldest and largest wineries in the Commonwealth.

Here you will learn about the history of wine in Virginia as well as the background of how Prince Michel came about. You will experience a fully guided tour of the production facility followed by a formal wine tasting of a delightful assortment of Prince Michel dry and Rapidan River sweet wines, accompanied by light hors d'oeuvres.

The tour will conclude with the trolley returning to the Historic Train Depot.
