August is Virginia Craft Beer month and a perfect time to plan a weekend getaway to celebrate the last few weeks of summer. 1.) Beer Hound Brewery – The 1st brewery in Culpeper has been serving up delicious, local, craft beer since 2014. This award winning micro-brewery is located in the heart of downtown Culpeper offering guests a variety of tasty anchor and seasonal brews named after hounds in movies, history, or one of their favorite pups. 

2.) Death Ridge Brewery – This family owned and run brewery offers some of the best sunset views around. Guests can enjoy ice cold craft beer, live music Thursday – Sunday, alongside their tasty food menu or snacks offered from one of the local food trucks on site. This family and dog friendly brewery also has an indoor play area, outdoor playground & bouncy houses for the kids as well as dog bowls and a fenced in dog park for your furry friends.

3.) Far Gohn Brewery – This micro-brewery is steps away from downtown Culpeper, offering 10+ unique beers as well as local wine and cider. Their tap list rotates weekly, giving guests a reason to keep coming back to try more! Modeled after the small taverns that dotted the landscape before prohibition, this local watering hole’s atmosphere is cozy and welcoming.

4.) Old House Vineyards – The 1st tri-fecta farm brewery in the Commonwealth of Virginia, this family friendly brewery has a full service, mouthwatering seasonal menu you can choose from that pairs perfectly with their hand crafted beers on tap. A true farm brewery, the majority of their base malts are Virginia Grown. Don’t forget to plan extra time to visit the winery & distillery on site too.

5.) Old Trade Brewery – Delicious local beer, wine and cider, Ax-throwing, bouncy house, indoor and outdoor kids area, this farm brewery offers a little something for every craft beer and beverage lover this month.
