Here it is! The most wonderful time of the year in Culpeper, Virginia! Join us for plenty of DIY gift-making action, stress-relieving yoga and music, plus annual events our locals never miss. Happy Holidays!

December 2 – It’s ladies’ night at State Climb! Bring a friend for the Ladies Climb with an all-female staff to help you learn the basics of bouldering, belay how-to’s, cross-training, and even proper nutrition for the climb and recovery afterward. 6 to 8 p.m.

December 2, 3, 9, 10, 16, 17, 23, 30 & 31 – Who can argue against Feel Good Yoga? Not us! Join in this 60-minute class to release any pent-up anxiety. It’s a great bit of self-care for the holiday season, and you can go at your own pace up to twice per week or as time allows.

December 3 – You could gift this wreath, but personally, we’d keep it for ourselves. The Old English Wreath Making Class at Endless Creations Flowers and Gifts is $60 and includes all of the live supplies and instruction to create a wreath to last the season. The class is socially distanced and capped at six participants.

December 3, 10, 17 & 31 – State Climb welcomes you to Intro to Climbing, a beginner level course to prepare you for your first climb. With Shenandoah National Park nearby, these are skills you can put to use immediately. And who couldn’t use fresh air in the great outdoors this season?

December 3, 10, 17 & 31 – Learn Ropes I at State Climb teaches you the all-important figure 8 knot as well as proper belay technique and communication for a successful rock climb. Put this class together with the Intro to Climbing and you’re well on your way to reaching new heights.

December 4 – Make one of those vintage porcelain Christmas trees with light bulbs that have once again risen in popularity when you attend the 13” Christmas Tree with Lights class at Glazed Up. Limited to 12 people, the class includes all of the supplies plus kiln firing and the light kit. Complete your tree in person or bring it back for firing at a later date. Registration required.

December 4 – The Midlife Crisis Band creates a fun vibe at Tap 29 Brewery. Enjoy a wide variety of music with a great beer from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.

December 5 – Lace up your sneakers – complete with jingle bells – for the Jingle Bell Trot, a 5K Fun Run to benefit the Culpeper Toy Chest. Registration is $30 and all proceeds will be used to purchase toys for kids in need. If you’d like to also donate toys, those can be brought for drop-off during the event at Yowell Meadow Park. The race begins at 9:30 a.m.

December 5 – The Prince Michel Holiday Open House includes bagged crafts for kids and Santa. For the adults, wine, beer, and food are for sale, and a make-your-own gift basket station allows you to create a great gift for someone special. 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Don’t miss the live music by James Tamelcoff at Tap 29 starting at 4:30 p.m.

December 5 – The Festival of Lights Spiritual Drive Through the Nativity begins at 6 p.m. and concludes at 8 p.m. at Epiphany Catholic School. There is no fee but food donations are welcome.

December 6 – BOOM Fitness Studio welcomes your children to “Be our guest” from 1 to 3 p.m. for a Princess Christmas. Only 15 spots are available and registration is required.

December 6 – Old Soul is bringing their blues, folk, and classic rock repertoire to Tap 29 Brewery from 1 to 5 p.m. Wine and beer available for purchase.

December 7 – Crafty Creations: Kids Ornament Workshop is a free activity that allows participants to create several ornaments each using yarn, salt dough, paints, and more. Open to ages 5 and up.

December 9 – The Entrepreneurs Hangout Holiday Bazaar at Elevate Culpeper is a great chance to shop multiple local artisans in one location. Wear your mask and shop from 5 to 7 p.m.

December 11 – Country, classic rock, pop and soul are what you can expect to hear from Bailey Hayes at Tap 29 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Food, beer, and wine available.

December 12 – Madison Highway Band is brining their acoustical talents to Davis Street Pier for a 9:45 p.m. to 12:45 a.m. show. Let your hair down but keep your mask on. And try to distance while enjoying the music.

December 12 – Create your own 4’ Snowman Pallet sign for your front porch or living room décor. Wine & Design is offering take-and-make kits with virtual instruction via Zoom, so sign up, pick up, sip up, and paint! No experience necessary and all materials are included in your fee. Registration required.

December 16 – Are you looking for a break from the COVID rat race of working from home – and possibly with kids under foot?  Entrepreneurs Hangout is a once-a-month gathering of entrepreneurs and small business owners who can commiserate and be a resource for one another during these interesting times. 5 to 7 p.m. every third Wednesday.

December 17 – Endless Creations is offering a Christmas Centerpiece Class complete with evergreens and faux decorations to ensure your creation lasts the entire season. Masks are required and the event is limited to six people. 6 to 8 p.m.
