February 1 – Don’t delay on preparing a beautiful Valentine for a loved one. Join in the You Choose: Family Valentine class at Wine & Design to create something beautiful. Registration is required.
February 4 – “Sip. Shop. Support. Show off your shoes …” That’s the motto of the Culpeper Winter High Heeled Happy Hour supporting elderly veterans in the community. Join in the fun at Grass Rootes on East Davis Street from 6 to 8 p.m. and enjoy their wonderful appetizers. Shop vendors and win prizes for “fabulous footwear.” Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the door; $5 goes to Hero’s Bridge.
February 7, 21 – What’s your favorite song? Freshen up on the lyrics and get ready for a grand time of Karaoke at Beer Hound Brewery! Try a flight of their craft beer and enjoy listening to others shine, too.
February 8 – Parent and child dates are super special, especially when you’re creating something together. Reserve your spot for the Mommy & Me Valentine Unicorn class at Wine & Design. Tickets are going fast; don’t delay.
February 8 – The Home Food Preservation class at the Culpeper Extension Office will introduce you to the basics of canning; a handy bit of knowledge for those planning a garden or planning to pick fresh fruits at a Virginia orchard this year. Registration is required.
February 8 – Give a fancy, tasty gift this month (or treat yourself!) when you attend the Cookie Decorating Class with Kat Tines at Raven’s Nest Coffee House. Registration is required.
February 12 – Date nights are underrated. Do them. For the beer and wine lovers among us, pair that love of beverage with an evening of painting together at Wine & Design. You can both sip and create a fun, collaborative set of canvases that reflect the two of you. Cheers to you, adult beverages, and fun times! Registration required.
February 12 – If you’ve never visited Culpeper, you’ve never had the chance to pose in front of our LOVEwork on East Davis Street. If you have visited, then you probably know about Reel LOVE and likely adore it as much as we do. Take that memory or photo and put LOVE on canvas with your own hand. No experience required! It’s an evening of wine (if you choose) and guided painting at Wine & Design. Registration required.
February 13 – The cutest gnome couple you could want to make are awaiting your personal touch at Wine & Design. It’s another fun date night idea, and the best part is that no creative talent is required. The in-house artists will guide you through the process of making something uniquely you and totally adorable. Registration required.
February 14 – Sassy, sexy cookies are in the works for the Galentines with Kat Tines event at Raven’s Nest Coffee House! Bring your girlfriends and celebrate each other this Valentine’s Day with lingerie cookie-making. Oooh la la! Registration required.
February 14 – Love bugs? Attend the Spotted Lanternfly Update at the Virginia Cooperative Extension office for help identifying the invasive Spotted Lanternfly (Lycorma delicatula), learn about the damage it causes to plants and crops, and hold a wider discussion of its range and impact. Registration required.
February 14 – Do you have a partner or friend who loves Star Wars? If so, this the date night they’ll remember! Conspire to collaborate on a Rey & Kylo Inspired Light & Dark painting session at Wine & Design. Registration required.
February 14 – Dan Trull will offer a set of great music from 7 to 10 p.m. at Far Gohn Brewing Company to serenade you and your sweet companion on Valentine’s Day. It’s a great way to extend your evening past dinner in downtown Culpeper.
February 14-16 – Valentine’s Chocolate and Wine Pairings will be offered all weekend long at Mountain Run Winery. Sample delectable chocolates, cheeses, and fruits paired with Mountain Run’s wines. Should it be a cold day, you’ll also want to try their mulled wine, too!
February 15 – Sloths have slunk right into our hearts and the one you’ll be painting at Wine & Design boasts a phrase we should all embrace: “Be Kind.” Create your own cute Be Kind Sloth at 10 a.m. and bring a friend, if you want. Artist instruction will be provided. Registration required.
February 15 – Fall in love with the art of watercolor painting when you team up with a friend, partner, or even your teen. Register to participate in Art Jam: Watercolor Flower Workshop for Teens & Adults at K Art and Design. “No experience required, just enthusiasm!”

February 22 – Culpeper Downtown Carnival is your chance to celebrate Mardi Gras in downtown Culpeper all day long with live music, children’s entertainment, costumed performers, and of course, the great tastes of New Orleans. Sniff out the gumbo and po’ boys, but be sure to save room for beignets and King Cake! Downtown retailers will offer special discounts for the day as well.
February 22 – Part of the Culpeper Downtown Carnival is the Mardi Grass Special at Glazed Up. Bring your beads or make use of theirs to create a festive beaded bangle for the celebration. One per person while supplies last.
February 22 – The SAFE 2nd Annual Mardi Gras Masquerade Ball will be held at Culpeper Center & Suites in downtown Culpeper. Don’t miss the great food and music, live and silent auction, and a modern dance performance. Tickets required.
February 22 – Stretch your lovefest past Valentine’s Day with another Wine & Design date night. Pair up to paint a two-canvas buck and doe. Beer, wine, and food will be available for sale. Registration required.
February 28 – Following along with Boxwood blight? Also called Boxwood leaf drop, it’s a fungal disease that causes round, brown spots on the leaves, eventually causing the Boxwood to drop all of its leaves. Get an update on Boxwood blight at the Virginia Cooperative Extension office to learn more about identification and susceptibility of your plants. Registration required.
February 29 – The Woods & Wildlife Conference is a single day event geared toward landowners of both large and small woodlands. You’ll hear from experts from
the Virginia Cooperative Extension agency, the Virginia Department of Game and
Inland Fisheries, Culpeper Soil & Water Conservation District, and others.
