Can you think of a better way to see the sites of Culpeper County than by air? Head out to the Culpeper Regional Airport and hop a ride on a biplane. Blue Ridge Biplanes offers numerous special packages including the Shenandoah Valley Special, their most popular ride! This one hour ride takes you to Skyline Drive for a breath-taking view of the Blue Ridge Mountains as you've never seen them before. Cross the mountains into the beautiful Shenandoah Valley and follow the Shenandoah River as it winds through the Valley. Then back across the mountains, flying over some of the prettiest scenery in the good ol' USA. Or ride the Barnstormer special for a shorter thirty minute ride. Both the Shenandoah and Barnstormer take two passengers. For the more adventurous, try the "Ultimate Acro" acrobatic flight - no charge for the adrenaline rush! Pilot John Corradi has over 40 years of flying experience.

The National Capitol Squadron of the Commemorative Air Force maintains a hangar and museum at the Culpeper Regional Airport that highlights, but is not limited to, World War II aviation. Eight military aircraft are currently in the hangar.
In addition to the assigned L-5 and BT-13 from the Commemorative Air Force, the NCS has a number of historic aircraft owned and operated by members that typically participate in the same events as the squadron, often giving them the opportunity to have at least 3-4 aircraft present.
All are maintained in flying condition and participate in air shows during the summer months. Admission to the museum is free to the public and an “Open House” is held on the second Saturday of every month. The public is welcome at any time, although it is recommended that you call ahead to arrange a tour, as squadron members may not be available when the hangar is closed.
